You catch more flies with honey

A trio of lovely little ideas that show, once again, that people are better tempted than bullied into behaviour changes.  I think this is something the green movement could do with a little more of, though I wonder about the electricity bill for all three.  Still, they're lots of fun.

Incidentally, all three of these appear on a site called thefuntheory.com which is sponsored by VW, which is cunning in itself.

Any values?

So BBH's new piece of film for Johnnie Walker features Robert Carlisle, er, walking, around the Scottish highlands.

I've not seen the film, but I'm assuming Robert picks up the pace a bit when he gets anywhere near the original Johnnie Walker distillery in Kilmarnock.

Diageo, who own the brand, are in the process of closing down the distillery and ending Johnnie Walker's 190 year relationship with the town, with the loss of 700 jobs.

Despite a £1.4 billion profit last year.

Now I know this isn't against the law, but I also know, that on the wall of a marketing department far, far away from Kilmarnock, is a Johnnie Walker brand pyramid/circle/dodecahedron, and I'll bet you a scotch that one of the words at the top of it is: "Authentic".

Banksy or Boris?

Spotted this official looking sign in the ticket hall at Piccadilly Circus and wondered which of London's premier pranksters was responsible? Incidentally, the Bohemians were directed towards Golden Square, the ASBOS to the Circus itself, so whoever was responsible had at least a cursory knowledge of the capital. Banksy it is then. Rich

1908 run

As it is the 100th anniversary of 1908 london olympics. I am running from the finish line of the old white city stadium (now BBC offices full of new media types) to the site of the new olympic stadium, probably full of Polish builder types. The route follows the canals - grand union, regents and at the end - the hertford canal. It will be knackering, but I will hopefully be fit by the end of it and its for a good and unusual cause - Lime Disease action.

the first post

So the first post from rich and jon. Better late than never. The world is probably not crying out for another advertising based blog, so we hope to make this advertising based blog entertaining, irreverent, insightful, honest and to the point. A bit like the advertising we have produced for (scarily) 13 years now. Take a look at our site www.richandjon.com to see what we've been up to.
